Poll Time Violence Against Minorities
Every parliamentary election of our country brings about harsh repercussions on minorities. The followers of Hinduism, Buddhaism and Christianity are mostly minor in terms of number of population. In retrospection of our previous elections, voilence always erupted before and after election. The minorities are the scapegoats of poll-time voilence. Many houses were torched and looted in the previous cases. The percentage of total minority population is not more than 10 percent. How will they be able to elect any aspirant without the majority? Lame exuses are given in the name of evading the cases filed. Like every election, this one does not seem to change the situation of existing violence. Especially Hindu community falls victim to most the violence occurred during the poll time. Rcently houses of Hindu commonity was torched in Panchagar. The fire gulfed the houses and burnt stored rice and cattle. The attackers attached at night.
A true democracy does not allow these violence perpetrated against the minority. It is the responsibility of the government to ensure and protect their rights. Ensuring right and protection of their life will create a harmonious relation among people
