Thousands left homeless in Bhasantek


At around 10 thousand of people living in Bhasantek slum are now homeless as the government housing authority have bulldozed their houses.

The people have become distraught what to do in the open sky.

The government drive has been critisized by the locals as government authority, local claimed did not give any notice or fixed time limit to give some time to relocate themselves.

"The authority has not informed us to vacate place. We are unable to take our belongingss to safe place. They have come suddenly and bulldozed.  Even the police have no given us few minutes to take our belongings and business items to be sold."
"It is a big loss. Moreover, the renters do not like to rent rooms to poor people like us" So where will we go?"

"On Television, I see, the kindness of the government showed to Rohinga refugee is praiseworthy but being citizens of this independent country, we lost our homes in this way".
These agonies and anguishies of the slum dwellers go unnoticed.
